A Bird’s Eye View About the Importance Of A Dust Collector

Whether an individual is a professional in a large commercial property or a weekend woodworker having a garage-sized shop, the dust collection is considered to be an important job. Making an effective dust collection system requires planning along with a little know-how. This article will talk about the meaning and importance of a dust collector.

A dust collector is a device that is used to collect the different types of industrial dust which, if not collected, may cause pollution to the environment. It is generally used to purify air and make it free from dust particles, dirt, and noxious gases. There are traditional dust collectors, and also some high-quality cyclone dust collectors that have two different points of collection for dust and debris.

Is a dust collector really needed? Importance and need for a dust collector

For a large number of hobbyists as well as the owners of the small professional shops, an appropriate dust collection system comes under the “luxury item” category – having so many other apparatus to buy, it may languish at the last of a priority list for a very long period of time. There is a woven or non-woven filter bag that is used for collecting the dust particles. There is a filter cloth that is made into a cylindrical-shaped bag and this high-quality fabric makes the bag stronger. More dust can be collected.

#1. Respiratory health

There is Research that continues into the health consequences of having a long-term exposure against workshop dust. In this debate about the seriousness of health risks, one aspect seems to be universally agreed upon: the risks are said to be real. Problems of Eye irritation, nasal dryness along with prolonged colds, skin irritation, chest congestion, frequent headaches, asthma or cancer are said to be among the very specific conditions which have been linked to the wood dust exposure. The longer an individual is exposed to the wood dust, the more likely he is to become affected to it and contact a reaction or have an experience of the other negative health effects.

#2. Safety and security

In a number of small shops, the concept of “dust collection” implies the process of breaking out a broom along with a dustpan at the closing of the day. A number of woodworkers routinely step over the piles of the shavings kicked out with the help of a thickness planer or they stand on a smooth, quarter-inch carpet of sawdust as they push the last few couples of boards into a big stack through the table saw. It is easy to put off the clearing away to a hazardous mess when one is busy working.

How does dust and dirt collected in the machine does not lead to a fire?

Fire is considered to be another danger that is posed by the dust buildup. Based on the experience kindling in a fireplace, one may know that the wood ignites very easily when it is cut into small sized pieces. It takes surprisingly just a little spark from a grinder, for instance, to ignite up the shavings and the sawdust which the power tools generate. The dust collector system can handle this aspect for its users. Not only would one have a comparatively easier time in finding and getting on to the things in the shop, but the people will also get to spend more time woodworking and comparatively less time in cleaning up dust. Now, to make the world a green and safer place to live, the government has made multiple regulations to install dust collectors at different sites to keep the environment clean and to stop harmful gases from ruining the atmosphere.

Employee GPS Tracking in 2018: New Surprises and Failures

Soon, almost all firms in the developed world will monitor their employees via GPS devices, in one way or another. The omnipresence of smartphones, the rise of wearable devices sporting GPS receivers and the use of mobile apps equipped with various health monitors means that employee GPS tracking technology is ready to become all-pervading in almost all branches of the economy.

With the rise of employee GPS tracking, the question of security has become increasingly more important. Some recent reports have shown that many GPS tracking and sharing platforms employ poor (if any) security measures, this should signal a warning to business owners planning to use employee GPS tracking systems. Fortunately, there are plenty of quality solutions that comply with the high standards of security needed.

Security issues are raised to a new, unexplored level when one discusses the possible introduction of implantable employee trackers. The problem with implantable trackers is now and will be for the foreseeable future that of privacy invasion. This issue alone will prevent this tech from impacting upon the employee GPS tracking market.

And finally, one has to examine the lack of firm limits that exist when it comes to the personal privacy of employees being tracked. Limits must be imposed so that employees are protected. The lack of regulations surrounding the tracking of employees allows unscrupulous companies to collect as much of their employee’s data as they possibly can.

Employee GPS tracking using wearable tech

BP America handed out 25,000 fitness trackers to its employees back in 2013 in an effort to increase their wellness but that also triggered a new trend of employee fitness tracking. A few years ago, the number of fitness trackers used in various workplace wellness programs was just a few hundred thousand; in 2018, that number should reach 13 million. With the increased development of wearable technologies, it’s only a matter of time before smartwatches become affordable enough to replace fitness trackers, giving employers the means to fuse wellness programs and employee GPS tracking.

Employee GPS tracking using wearables has many advantages . The greatest advantage appearing to be the seamless way in which tracking and monitoring work with this type of device. All features work automatically; there’s no setup involved, you simply install the needed app and start it in case when tracking is done via smartwatch. And in case a fitness tracker is used workers have to sync data with their smartphones. Each piece of data can be accessed online because fitness trackers can be synced with smartphones and furthermore, smartwatches offer even simpler integration along with support for mobile apps. This allows them to be equipped with the native apps of the employee GPS tracking platforms that support it. Some smartwatch models (never ones that come with standalone LTE coverage) even offer standalone online synchronization options and advanced fitness and health sensors. For instance, the new generation of Apple Watch comes with ECG feature, allowing for unmatched accuracy when it comes to heart monitoring.

2018 is the year in which wearable devices are quickly becoming the main tool for employee GPS tracking. And while other technologies, like smart badges, are also growing in popularity the signs are that the workforce of the future will be tracked via wearables.

Introduction of implantable trackers raises serious privacy concerns

After equipping your employees with smartwatches or fitness trackers with GPS receivers and the ability to sync with smartphones, thus offering a seamless way of accessing tracking data online, the question arises – what will come next? What could be more seamless than a wearable device? Well, devices that can be carried by users 24/7 without the possibility of removal, forgetting or battery life. The answer is simple – implantable chips.

Coming from the murky depths of dystopian Sci-Fi novels and the grim predictions of the future they portray; implantable chips are slowly being mooted as the ultimate way to monitoring employees. Just last year, a company named Three Square Market was on the front pages when its CEO and the majority of its 85 employees agreed to be implanted with RFID chips . These chips were capable of automatizing many everyday work tasks and simple chores like logging in to office computers, automatic door opening and using various equipment at work like printers, copy machines, or vending machines.

Another offering out there although not employing sub-skin implants that once implanted literally become part of your body, is just as worrying. And this is Smart sensors . Smart sensors are installed inside office lighting, computers, or HVAC systems and are capable of collecting all kinds of data. With the help of next generation smart employee badges equipped with not only RFID chips but also NFC sensors, Bluetooth, infrared sensors, microphones and accelerometers, these smart sensors can track every single variable inside an office, down to stress levels detected by analyzing voices of workers and various biometric data such as hours of sleep, calories burned or activity levels.

This also means that employers are able to track their workforce 24/7, 365 days a year. These chips can be tracked all around the office via smart sensors and while they aren’t offering much else, in just a few years we will witness implants equipped with GPS receivers, health monitors, and even internet connectivity. This raises serious privacy concerns because, if your employer can track you non-stop, do you have any privacy left? And, if employers start tracking their workforce without any limits, how long will it take governments to impose similar rules on its citizens?

Some governments plan on running nationwide monitoring networks that follow everyone, so the only thing stopping them from using implantable chips is the fact that technology is not advanced enough, yet. There’s also the scenario in which internet companies start offering implantable chips capable of monitoring your every move, and people might agree to use them because we are living in a society where personal privacy is slowly becoming obsolete.

Lack of security in many popular GPS tracking apps

These concerns aren’t unjustified. Look, the most important thing each and every GPS sharing, tracking, or monitoring platform (including employee GPS tracking solutions) has to include is two-way encryption capable of preventing everyone except end users and those who perform monitoring (employees) from having access to the collected data – that means even companies providing these platforms shouldn’t have access to the data – but a recent research study showed many of the most popular apps either use poor security features, or none at all, which is gravely concerning.

A study called “All your family secrets belong to us – Worrisome security issues in tracker apps” stated that 18 popular GPS sharing and tracking apps all had one thing in common – poor security. Researchers found a staggering number of security vulnerabilities among apps such as KidControll GPS Tracker, My Family GPS Tracker, Family Locator, Couple Tracker App, Phone Tracker Pro and others.

Security vulnerabilities range from allowing attackers easy access to usernames and passwords. To exposing tracking data to the public by offering no encryption at all or simply keeping the unprotected (that means keeping data as plain text) sign in data of every single user on app servers. The issue is not found with any employee GPS tracking platform (at least till now) but even if these platforms use advanced security measures, they are at risk of being hacked. Even biometric security measures aren’t hack-proof so developers of employee GPS tracking platforms simply have to use two-way encryption in order to keep gathered data secured on their servers.

Putting limits on employee GPS tracking platforms regarding user privacy

Tracking a workforce can now be seen as all-encompassing therefore the need to limit tracking and monitoring naturally has a place at the center of this discussion. As we already pointed out, without firm legislation companies will try to monitor everything, non-stop. Wearables are able to track location and health data throughout the day, so we must develop ways to impose limits upon employers. Allow them to monitor and store data gathered only during work hours unless employees explicitly agree for their movement or health data to be monitored during off hours.

Further, this gathered employee health data must not be misused. For instance, employers cannot use this gathered data as a reason to fire employees because said data shows a health problem, thus preventing this employee from using their health insurance plans for treatment. Similar cases have happened already. Or imagine a situation not too far off; a worker goes out and drinks a lot of alcohol each weekend and since they are monitored by their employers 24/7 with implanted chips (capable, for instance, of measuring level of alcohol in bloodstream), they receive notice that their contract will be terminated because the company has a zero-alcohol policy that is in place even during off hours. This employee agreed to be tracked non-stop and therefore agreed to the terms and conditions.

Wearables as the go to tool for employee GPS tracking are definitely on the rise, this rise in use has seen a corresponding rise in warnings. Lack of security being one of the greatest but fortunately, this was limited to GPS tracking apps that aren’t supposed to be used for tracking employees (but can be). Privacy concerns are to the fore, especially those surrounding the lack of legislation regarding limits placed on companies tracking their employees. If we welcome implantable tracking chips without educating the public and without imposing limits upon the type of data they can collect, or when it can be collected, we are hurtling head first into a future where companies and whole countries will be free to spy on its citizens without any limits. This is a conversation that will be and must be ongoing.

Several Steps to Improve Workplace Safety

Where workplace safety is concerned, there are particular industries where additional steps must be taken to help protect the wellbeing of personnel from hazardous situations. Employees of companies that specialise in construction, mining, and chemicals, for example, are at much greater risk of suffering serious or even fatal injuries through falls or contact with harmful substances.

Here are several steps that managers should look to adopt, to help lessen the likelihood of workplace accidents.

1) Don’t compromise worker safety for the sake of company budget

Alarmingly, safety training and essential equipment are typically among the first things to be targeted, when companies are looking for ways to reduce their expenditure. Whilst it may seem like a sensible business move from a financial point of view in the short time, such cutbacks place workers at heightened risks of injury, resulting in costly time off when injuries are sustained – or where career ending or even deaths are concerned, heavy to the families of the victims. This being the case, it’s never a good idea for businesses to cut costs on safety-related equipment.

2) Establish safe work practices

When everyone understands the importance of safety, the work environment will naturally be safer. In order to develop and foster a safe work environment, management needs to proactively encourage safe practices and praise the efforts of workers who perform their duties with the necessary level of care. Such encouragement will help those workers to recognise the value of their work and will inspire those around them to do the same.

3) Install fall prevention equipment

Fall prevention equipment is necessary for many industries and each country will have its own unique set of OHS laws in place, dictating what rules and regulations businesses must abide by. To ensure compliance with these laws, it’s imperative that the fall prevention equipment is appropriate for a particular task. Such fall prevention solutions may include purpose-built work platforms (permanent and mobile), safety steps and permanent ladder systems. Ensure you select the correct work platform for your needs, by getting in touch with a specialised manufacturer of industrial safety equipment.

4) Employ reputable contractors

If a company chooses to employ separate contractors to complete or assist with a particular job, then it’s vital to ensure that they are implementing the same workplace safety practices as the company’s own employees. Whilst the contractor is not required by law to possess the exact same principles as the company that chose to employ them, it’s important that they place the same level of seriousness and significance on safety, when performing their work duties.

5) Conduct Regular Inspections

Performing routine maintenance checks on all workplace machinery can go a long way in helping to reduce the risk of accidents. Additionally, not only do routine equipment inspections help provide a safer work environment, but they also help to improve the longevity of the equipment, as well.

6) Place an emphasis on worker communication

The reality is, a significant number of worker injuries can be avoided if workers are willing to notify their employers the moment they discover something that is or can possibly become something that is hazardous. A great way to ensure that such instances aren’t acted upon is for management to schedule meetings on a routine basis, where workers can highlight any issues that they feel warrant investigation.

7) Ensure the workplace is regularly cleaned

What may appear as a bit of harmless debris or spillage and something that is simply ‘part and parcel’ of the workplace, can easily create a hazardous situation for those operating in the construction, mining or similar fields. Help lessen or eliminate the chances of serious injury by ensuring that the workplace is kept clean at all times. Ensure that all debris is disposed of and that all spills are cleaned up immediately.

8 Tips for Ensuring a Successful Warehouse

Creating and managing a successful warehouse environment is a complicated challenge. Paying close attention to the following will help guarantee a safer and more productive workplace.

1) It must be well organised

In order to provide maximum warehouse efficiency, it’s essential that your most popular stocked items are stored in a location that is most easily accessible by operators. By sensibly arranging your most commonly purchased items together, your workers will be able to load and unload at a faster rate. Consider a department store; everything is arranged logically, next to related items.

2) Always inspect your orders when they arrive

Always examine your orders when they arrive, regardless of how long you’ve been doing business your suppliers. Neglecting to do so, will cost your business big time if the order is wrong, or if the goods are damaged.

3) Have a sensible order picking procedure in place

If you have a warehouse that typically processes a small volume of orders from a large number of items, it’s important to establish a picking system that doesn’t force forklift operators to be constantly going ‘to and from’ to fulfil the order. Likewise, if your warehouse handles a high amount of smaller orders, arrange each checklist by item groups and finalise each item by the customer’s order number once it hits the authentication stage.

4) Rearrange your warehouse stock when required

Product popularity can change markedly, from one moment to the next and when it does, you must be able to rearrange the layout of your warehouse stock accordingly, to cope with changing buyer demands. Always ensure that your most popular items are given prime real estate that enables workers to access them quickly and efficiently.

5) Have effective quality control systems in place

In every bustling warehouse, instances where defective or incorrect products are accidentally picked, are unavoidable. To prevent these undesired products from accumulating, it’s important to have a specific area of the warehouse dedicated to storing and redistributing them to their appropriate picking location.

6) Ensure safety is your number one priority

The number one priority in any warehouse environment is safety. Failure to implement appropriate safety protocols increases the risk of worker injuries, fatalities and damage to warehouse equipment, such as pallet racking. To be certain that your workplace is compliant with all necessary health and safety regulations, be sure to contact a qualified OHS specialist. An OHS consultant can establish a complete set of warehouse safety guidelines for you. Beyond this, there are a number of things you can do to help reduce or avoid workplace mishaps.

To prevent worker injuries, always ensure that aisles and walkways are free from any debris, discarded items, spilled liquids or any other warehouse equipment that has been left lying around. Ensure that there is adequate lighting throughout the warehouse. Secure and put away all hazardous substances and place all electric cabling below the floors to help prevent fires.

7) Ensure all workers are properly trained

Well trained personnel don’t just provide a more productive workplace; in the event of a work-related injury, they may also prevent the loss of life. Having all employees up-to-date with the latest safety procedures and warehouse guidelines will help protect themselves and their co-workers from harm. Be sure to always have a first aid kit at the premises and arrange to have the training redone over again at regular intervals to prevent staff from forgetting what they’ve learned.

8) Have order tracking set up

When customers order goods from you, they want to be able to see exactly where it is in the order process. Some companies have very precise order tracking in place that goes beyond simply ‘order received’, ‘order shipped’ and so on. Having a high-quality tracking system in place will keep customers up to date on their order status and help alleviate any frustration or impatience.

guide that you can follow but is this enough?

And at this moment, you’re still in the point of considering what kind of business you want to pursue.

What type of business idea is the RIGHT SMALL BUSINESS IDEA for you?

How can you find a small business opportunity that is a good fit for your interest and profitable at the same time?

You probably have a list of small business guide to help you in starting your venture. But there are still some factors that make you undecided. And one thing is for sure, you want to start a type of business that is well-suited to your business goals and expertise, right?

To help you with that, below are the criteria that may help you decide what small business idea you should start.

SMALL BUSINESS GUIDE — Criteria in Selecting a Business

1. Expertise — it should be something you know how to do and can do well. Your expertise will help you a lot for the success of your business.

2. Passion — it should be something that you love to do and won’t get tired of doing it every day. Being passionate about what you do helps a lot in managing your business. Loving what you do helps you survive the worst time that your business may encounter.

3. Demands —Your business should be something that sells on a steady basis. You don’t want to start a business that doesn’t guarantee a profit, right? So you need to think of a business that has a target market. Have a feasibility study to help you with your decision.

4. Unique Selling Point — your business must have a complex and not an easy-to-copy concept. Being unique in the industry that knows its target market and business goals is surely a success. Starting a small business is never easy. There are times when business ideas that pop into your mind are the concept that imitates a successful business. It’s not really bad though, but the problem here is you will be going to face a lot of competition.

5. Costing — your business should be something that can be sold at a price that can cover your expenses and return a profitable value. The pricing of the product or services that you are going to offer should be well thought of. You can use a business strategy appropriate to your target market. And a business personal assistant can help you with this.

6. Capital — you also need to have a steady cash flow in starting the business in your mind. Like we have mentioned earlier, starting a business is never easy. Know how much capital you have and what you will need in your business. Aside from that, identify how you will go about getting it. Research and study the costs associated with the business you are going to start. It is important that you know how much money you’ll need and decide where it could come from before you start up a small business.

There are many to consider before starting up your small business venture. You can seek the help of a business mentor who can give you an honest feedback about the business that you are going to start. Aside from that, you can also ask for the help of a trusted business personal assistant in conducting a research analysis for your business. They may help you to determine the best practices you need to put in place for your company.

One of the characteristics of a successful businessman is determination. You need to keep going even though other people already give up. The above criteria may help you with the success of your business. But still, it is up to you on how you will manage your business. Be a risk-taker and keep going. Be prepared for challenges — and go for it, your hard work will pay off in due time.

5 Warehouse Management Mistakes That Can Ruin Your Business

Operating a business involves a whole range of complex challenges. To run a smooth warehouse operation, there are several major areas that you must address. Failure to do so, will inevitably lead to costly and potentially catastrophic consequences down the line. As a manager, it is your chief priority to keep a handle on any issues that may result in reduced output and efficiency throughout the workplace. All time and money spent on optimising warehouse performance will help ensure a safer work environment and ultimately, a more prosperous future for your business.

Here are 5 warehouse management mistakes that can ruin your business.

1) Failure to upgrade old and outdated machinery

Central to providing an efficient warehouse operation, is the usage of state-of-the-art tools and machinery. Not only does new technology help guarantee higher output levels, it ensures greater safety for personnel. Old equipment greatly increases the risk of workplace related injuries and enabling them to continue using inferior tools and operate old machines, results in a warehouse that will never reach its true operating potential. For help on selecting first class equipment for your warehouse, such as pallet racking systems, get in a touch with a trusted warehouse equipment supplier.

2) Not Stock-Taking On a Frequent Basis

All warehouse operations depend on precise inventory counts. Neglecting to do inventory checks creates a lot of headaches and will likely end up costing your business a lot of clients. While seen as a time consuming chore by those tasked with doing it, it’s essential for ensuring the running of a successful warehouse. Effective stock-taking means having a suitably robust software package in place, that can handle your warehouse demands.

This goes back to Mistake 1), where not upgrading equipment (including computers and software) on routine basis, will result in reduced output. With modern software that is geared towards your industry, the stock-taking process will be less stressful and completely accurate. Before committing yourself to an expensive software package, be sure to request a demo version (if possible) to see if the program satisfies your business requirements and isn’t overly complicated to use. An advanced software program that has a million different features, is of little value if it’s too complicated.

3) Neglecting to Define Appropriate Reorder Points (ROP)

Maintaining the correct amount of stock is a much simpler task when relevant reorder points have been defined, for each SKU (stockkeeping unit). As a warehouse manager, you must have an automated process in place that requests the products to be reordered, once the ROP has been reached. With an automated process in place, your warehouse will never be understocked on important items.

4) Allowing The Warehouse to Become Untidy

When your warehouse becomes dirty and unkempt, it slows everyone down and creates confusion among the workspace. Forklift operators who are unable to navigate the paths safely, put themselves, their warehouse equipment and their fellow workers at a heightened risk of injury. For this reason, it’s important that your warehouse has a strict cleaning schedule in place. A neat and tidy premise will help guarantee maximum worker efficiency and a safe working environment.

5) Not Implementing Necessary Safety Guidelines

Warehouses by nature, are a hive of activity, with workers and (often) dangerous equipment and machinery working in unison with each other. This means that a comprehensive set of safety guidelines must be drawn up. Rather than set about creating your own set of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) policies, it’s strongly recommended that you seek out a qualified warehouse safety specialist, who can develop an appropriate set of guidelines for your business.

5 Things Small Business Owners Should Know

Running a small business demands a lot of decision making and wearing many hats, so it’s no surprise it can feel arduous and overwhelming from time to time. It’s easy to get lost in the noise and lose track what’s really important for a business to thrive.

It’s always good to remember that even some of the biggest companies originally started very small, and as a result of good business ideas, management and strategies, grew to become what they are today. With that in mind, here are 5 very important aspects that every small business owner needs to know.

Business Plan

If you’re like most small business managers and owners, you’re very busy, if not extremely overwhelmed. The idea of investing long hours of precious time to write a plan for your small business might not seem worth it. But the statistics tell a different story. There are some very compelling reasons to create a business plan for small businesses.

When creating a business plan, focus on what really needs to be measured and what really needs to be done. The plan doesn’t have to be a 100-page document. As a matter of fact, it can contain just a few pages, where you will list all the essentials for your business and how you plan to achieve them.

Creating a business plan is an integral part of the process in establishing a successful business. Even if your financing is already secured, a well-written and articulated plan can be very helpful in your quest to success.

Know Your Customers

The importance of knowing your customers is paramount. Without understanding your audience, you won’t get too far in business, and you’ll almost certainly go under.

What most folks do wrong is they create a service or a product and then go looking for people to sell this service or product to. A much better approach is to find out what your customers want before you go into it and only then create your product that will be in immediate demand.

So before spending a lot of money on a crazy idea you think will work, it’s better to try and ask yourself these two questions:

  • What will my customers think about this service/product?

  • How exactly will my service/product help people and why do they need it?

Accounting and Recordkeeping

All successful businesses practice good bookkeeping; they always know where the money is going and where it’s coming from. You’d be surprised how many businesses don’t keep close track of their revenue and expenses.

Good bookkeeping can help you avoid potential issues that may be overlooked in the everyday business operations. Luckily, in this day and age, advanced technology makes it easier than ever for everyone to maintain business records necessary for a fruitful business.

There’s lots of software can produce all the records you need to assess and attune your business for a strong financial position.

Leveraging Social Media to Generate Leads

Social media offers many opportunities for small businesses to start conversations with potential clients and generate new leads. Give your small business a social media and online presence to attract and engage your target audience, and funnel them through your process to become customers.

Once you have leads in the system, you can use social media to establish a conversation and find out more about their needs and wants. The more positive touch points leads have with your business, the more likely they will be to trust your brand and eventually make purchases.

Lead generation should be thought of as a continuous, long-term process. If you already have a system in place, look into how you can improve it further and streamline the lead generation process to increase your chances for business growth.

Knowing Your Location

Not every business idea is great for a given region. For a businesses to flourish, you need to have a market. And in some places, depending on where you’re located, there might not be a market for your product. Location is less important if you’re selling products online, but if your business is tied to a location – no matter how good your product or service is, if there’s no one to buy it, there’s no point in investing in the idea. So make sure to do your diligence when checking the market demand.

Small business owners have a lot on their plate. Employee management, business laws, regulations, taxes.. the list goes on and on. It’s very easy to lose track of what’s really important and get stuck with issues. Try to focus on the core elements that drive your business forward and once you get the essentials in place, you can build and expand much easier. Hopefully, these five tips will come in handy. Good luck!

Pallet Racking Guide – Part 2

A continuation of part 1, which introduced you to Double Deep, Narrow Aisle and Drive-In Pallet Racking systems, part 2 focuses on Selective, Push Back and Cantilever racking. The guide will once again explain each type of pallet racking system and identify its greatest advantages.

Selective Pallet Racking

Selective pallet racking is one of the most popular pallet storage systems on the market today, allowing forklift operators to access each individual pallet, without the need for specialised vehicles. While this system doesn’t offer the same level of storage space optimisation that some other pallet racking systems do, the ease and speed at which items can be placed and retrieved make it an extremely versatile and attractive storage solution for many warehouses.

  • Direct access to each pallet in the warehouse at all times; essential to warehouses that resupply on a frequent basis
  • Ability to quickly rotate stock as required
  • All storage items can be swiftly and effectively loaded and unloaded
  • Beam heights can be readily modified to suit desired height; perfect for warehouses that need to store of SKUs of multiple sizes
  • Does not require specialised forklifts
  • Pallets can be placed on the warehouse floor and still be efficiently retrieved, due to the wide aisles

Push Back Pallet Racking

With push back pallet racking, palletised items are placed onto wheeled trays of varying heights and travel back along guide lanes that extend to the full length of the racking system. Depending on the size of the system, each lane can hold up to six pallets or more, making it a highly cost effective storage solution. The lanes themselves are inclined at a slight angle so that when an item is removed from the front of the lane, the remaining items immediately shift towards the front to take its place. This way, the pallets are always at the front of the lanes.

  • Push back systems utilise the LIFO (last in, first out) system and the ability to store items at up to several pallets deep or more, make it an excellent storage option for warehouses that require long-term storage.
  • Allows businesses to enjoy the benefits of high-density storage without the need for purpose-built forklifts and handling devices
  • Each pallet racking level can be used to house a different item and each level can be quickly accessed

Cantilever Racking

Cantilever racking is the ideal solution for the storage of large items. It optimises storage space and ensures high-level accessibility to all items at all times. This system can be effortlessly adapted to suit each warehouses’ desired storage requirements and provides enhanced workplace efficiency and superior stock control. The remarkable simplicity of cantilever racking allows it support in excess of thirty tonnes per column or more.

The racking can either be single or double sided and can be expanded by installing additional uprights at desired distances, as required. Aside from warehouse storage, cantilever racking is perfect for retail purposes as well. Its open layout makes it very easy for prospective buyers to view the stored items. A complete absence of columns along the front face of each cantilever rack ensures items are able to deposited and retrieved with a high degree of precision.

  • Excellent solution for the storage of large and bulky items
  • Can store items without the need for pallets
  • Highly versatile; items can be placed onto racks directly, with pallets, or while wrapped together
  • Can be extended up to 30 feet or more (10 metres) in height
  • Can be expanded lengthwise to suit any size requirements
  • Single or double-sided configurations, for high-density storage of cumbersome inventory
  • Each cantilever arm is capable of supporting several tonnes or more
